A Trophy Bonanza @ Brands Hatch in Britcar Endurance!

With a weather forecast of divided opinion, the 1.2miles Indy circuit at Brands Hatch was always going to be a tough challenge for the Eureka duo of Rob Hudson & Adriano Medeiros.

Early practice soon revealed that the M3 GTR was suffering from a detonated front damper, hampering the teams ability to set the lap times it had hoped for. Regardless, the drivers battled with the car, bringing in a respectable performance and enough feedback for the Geoff Steel engineers to come up with an action plan.

A damper was kindly loaned to the team from a redundant „Cool Climate“ car and the engineers frantically set about replacing it in the small time window before qualifying began.

The job was completed successfully and Rob Hudson was able to set out, immediately crushing his previous lap by over 3 seconds, bringing in a respectable qualifying time of 53 seconds. Pro driver, Adriano Medeiros then set about improving on Robs time bringing in 51.15 as the teams final qualifying time. The car was in no way set up perfectly due to a foreign damper, however it was an improvement.

Race One was underway, the weather staying dry and Medeiros doing the first stint, which was a slight change to the teams driver pattern. A slick driver change from the team at 25 minutes and Hudson was able to bring the home for a first in class and 12th overall.

Race Two saw a very different pattern in weather with dry, wet, dry and then heavy rain over the teams two hour endurance race. This made for some very difficult tyre choices, however the team called things perfectly, putting the team almost two laps ahead of its nearest class 4 rival, the G50 Ginetta of Kuda Drinks. Once again Medeiros performed the first stint, at times the car on slicks in the wet and having some nail biting dog fights with both the Moss Motorsport M3 and more impressively, the Ferrari 458 GTE of David Mason/Callum Lockie.

Driver change, refuel and tyres to wets the car was handed to Hudson, battling in almost monsoon like conditions for the final proportion of the race. Worn tyres and a greasy track proving a handful at times, but yet bringing the car home for a win in class and 9th overall.
